Sofa Session: Things we need to stop doing as we progress with the next generation of sustainable educational buildings
Join us for a “sofa session” on the design and procurement of the next generation of sustainable educational buildings.
Not everything with “eco” in the name has an environmental benefit, and in some cases, even where there are demonstrable benefits, the application of fixed resources in alternative ways may yield more significant results.
The theme of this session will be a provocative discussion on “Things we should stop doing!”. It will consider the merit of a number of current approaches to enhancing the environmental impact of educational buildings. It will challenge conventional wisdom and consider if resources could be focused on alternative approaches to achieve the collective gaol of accelerating the provision of buildings with a lower environmental impact.
The session will be a casual, open discussion where attendees are encouraged to engage and present their views on education building design and procurement, and in particular approaches, techniques, or technologies that the feel are not optimal.
