Synopsis

Scotland’s Learning Estate – Connecting People, Places and Learning: Andy Dailly, Scottish Government & Stephen Long, Scottish Futures Trust & Diarmaid Lawlor

To improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public services for communities, the Scottish Government worked in collaboration with local authorities to develop a Learning Estate Strategy which was launched in 2019. This builds on examples of integrated public services and encourages this approach in future learning estate projects.

We will share the vision of this strategy, examples of completed facilities and look ahead to future projects.

The DfEs Transition to MMC and the educational benefits: Scott Tacchi, Department for Education

Our speaker Scott Tacchi is Head of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) at the Department for Education will be giving a presentation on the next generation of school designs in terms of building and curriculum.

Scott will talk about a new framework to deliver up to a 100 new school projects per year based on more enhanced standardisation which focuses on offsite solutions to improve quality and efficiency to deliver programme and value savings. At its core will be BIM modelling design, sustainability and enhanced delivery.
