Biography

Colm is a native of Monaghan Town. He began his teaching career at Scoil Mhuire in 1998. 

He was the recipient of the University of Ulster’s Biggar Award at the culmination of his Masters in Educational Management degree, was appointed deputy principal of St. Mary’s in 2011 and principal in 2012. Colm is married to Martha (nee Mc Cague) and he lives in Scotstown, Co Monaghan. The couple have four children aged eleven, twelve, fourteen and sixteen. Colm has an interest in sport he coaches with Scotstown GAA Club. He also has a keen interest in sustainability. His self-built family home was based closely on the Solar House Magherafelt. Colm passionately supported the concept of the Energy Pathfinder project. He can see at first hand the transformative effect of the work that was done in St. Mary’s on a daily basis.
