Gerry Foley

Belvedere College SJ

Born in Kerry, my father was a Primary School Principal in a small school near Castlemaine. I began my teaching career in Limerick (1984), moved to Galway, then to Connemara and from there to the East End of London in 1990. I Moved to St. Paul’s in Surrey as Deputy Head in 1994, then returned to Ireland in 1998 to a secondary school in Bray as Principal. I was appointed Headmaster in Belvedere in 2003. Since then the school has expanded to over 1000 students and there has been an extensive building and refurbishment programme requiring significant fundraising.
