Dirk Schleihs has built an extensive career in education, consulting, and management. Since 2010, he has served as Director of the Center for Special Education in the German-speaking Community of Belgium.

In parallel, he has worked as an independent consultant since 1998, specializing in intercultural services. Prior to this, he spent more than twelve years as a secondary school teacher, teaching chemistry, natural sciences, communication, and media analysis, while also holding a middle-management position.

His professional background further includes serving as Managing Director of Noves Group in Liège (1999–2002), specializing in event management, and working as a Production Assistant at Notorious Films in Amsterdam (1995–1996).

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Dirk is actively involved in several administrative and advisory boards on a voluntary basis. For example, he serves as a representative for Unia in the Parliament of the German-speaking Community of Belgium. Unia is an independent Belgian public institution dedicated to combating discrimination and promoting equality. It advocates for the inclusive and equal participation of all individuals in every area of society and supports citizens who have experienced discrimination.
