Dr. Avril Behan is Director of FET Estates Management & Portfolio Management at SOLAS, Ireland’s Further Education and Training Authority. She leads on supporting development and management of the national FET Estate, in alignment with the Public Sector Climate Action Mandate, the FET Strategy, and a range of other policy initiatives. Avril previously led the capital investment portfolio for SOLAS including the FET College Major Capital Programme. Before joining SOLAS in 2022, she served in a range of academic leadership positions at TU Dublin and DIT, including Dean of the College of Engineering and Built Environment. Avril also directed the nationally funded Build Digital programme, supporting digital transformation and Building Information Modelling (BIM) implementation in Ireland. A Chartered Geomatics Surveyor (FRICS), she holds a PhD from Trinity College Dublin and an Executive MBA from Technological University Dublin.
