Gavin Arnold
Gavin joined the Department of Education and Youth in 2023 as a Senior Architect in the Professional & Technical Section of the Planning & Building Unit. Prior to joining the Department, Gavin had over 30 years of experience working in a number of private architectural practices in Ireland and Internationally. This experience included the design and construction stages of a wide range of building types including education and school projects. Gavin is currently co-ordinating the review and revision of the School Design Guidance and Design Team Procedures published by the Planning & Building Unit. This included the recent publication of the Department’s Guidance on Whole Life-Cycle Assessments and the Principles of Low Carbon Design for School Building Projects.
