Hubert Loftus is a career civil servant with over 30 years’ experience in various management roles in the Department of Education and Youth. He is an Assistant Secretary General and is Head of the Planning and Building Unit in the Department since October 2017.

He leads the work of the Planning and Building Unit which is responsible for the identification and delivery of current and future infrastructure requirements in the primary and post primary education sector as part of the Government’s €7.55 billion capital investment programme under the National Development Plan 2026 – 2030.
