John Dolan is head of the Climate Action Unit in the Department of Education and Youth, leading on strategic planning and implementation of the Department’s Climate Agenda including decarbonisation trajectory, research programmes and development and delivery of decarbonisation and energy efficiency programmes. John is a Chartered Engineer who has worked in both the private and public sector, nationally and internationally with over 37 years’ experience. John was presented with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland Chairperson’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Energy in 2024.
