Karen is a Senior Architect in the Planning and Building Unit of the Department of Education and Youth. With over 20 years experience in school design and delivery, architectural advisory services and stakeholder engagement, she has a deep understanding of how architecture and inclusive environments positively impact school experiences for all. Karen is Architectural Lead on Programme Innovate, the department’s latest large scale delivery programme. This programme will deliver a portfolio of over 30 large-scale new school projects over the next 5 years, including nine inclusive education campuses. She is committed to promoting high quality design and innovation, engaging school users in the design process and delivering the best quality schools for the future.
