Pat Nestor
Pat Nestor is Head of Building Control at Dublin City Council and a Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. He leads the oversight of building standards and regulatory compliance across the capital, with a strong focus on safety, quality and risk-based inspection.
Pat contributes to national Building Control policy through his membership of key advisory and steering groups and has long supported Government initiatives on the adaptive reuse of existing buildings. His work provides practical insight into how regulation, safety and compliance shape the delivery and retrofit of public buildings, including schools and education facilities.
He regularly delivers CPD and guest lectures on Building Regulations and has participated in SCSI outreach programmes, visiting schools to promote careers in the built environment. He is Chair of the Building Surveying Professional Group and a member of the Council of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland
